I’m Robin Heydon, recovering software engineer, based in Great Britain.
Got a Bachelors in Computer Science from Manchester University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Open University.
Worked on a number of computer games:

- Falcon 4.0 (Microprose)
I’ve worked on embedded software for CSR Bluetooth devices.
I’ve authored a number of features for the Bluetooth specifications:
- role switch fixes
- sniff subrating
- low energy (mostly ATT / GATT)
- mesh specifications
- electronic shelf labels specifcations
During my time working on the Bluetooth specifications, I’ve chaired a number of working groups or committees:
- HCI WG
- Core Specification WG
- ULP WG
- BARB
- Mesh
- ESL
I was inducted into the Bluetooth SIG Hall of Fame.
Was chair of the Cambridge Cycling Campaign (Camcycle) and had a weekly column published in the local newspaper.
Apart from that, not done much…
Currently interested in:
- Zig programming language
- Land use planning and transportation
- Electrifying everything (especially transport / home heating / energy storage)
